As a first assignment in the last semester of my second year, you had to give a repurpose to the old tram depot in Merelbeke. As part of this, you had to incorporate a brasserie, a co-working space and a meditation room. I decided to apply a more playful concept over the space. I did this in four ways, first by using organic, rounded shapes instead of the standard rectangular spaces. Second, I used differences in height, which created an impact in the space. For example, my entrance and certain meeting rooms are elevated. Third, I made use of flexible furniture that can easily be joined or be removed. Finally, I used primary colours which in turn gives a playful effect.
